Llamas

What are those?

One recent young visitor to the farm, unable to pronounce the word “llama” went home and told her teacher and classmates about the “tall horses” she saw. That’s probably the most creative description I’ve heard!

We got our first llama as a protector for our flock. His name was Flyer (Time Flies). Subsequently, we purchased three llamas from Ken and Marty St Clair of Elevenses Llamas. Zuma, Rudy and Pequena became our guardians and friends. Slick and Ghost are Pequena’s daughters, and Bunny is a clone of her mama, Zuma.

Bunny now works and lives in Durham, NC protecting a large flock of Katahdin ewes against coyote predation.
